I have always enjoyed writing, and my author background began at a very early age. I remember being in the first grade, learning how to compose formal letters. At that time, my father was in Law Enforcement training in Glyncoe, GA, and I seized every opportunity to write to him, which formed my writing roots. From there, I was invited to attend a Writers Conference at Henderson State University while I was still in the 4th grade. In the 5th grade, I wrote a children's book titled "The Long Journey." By 8th grade, I was even writing one-act plays. My English teacher, Ms. Ross, instructed our class to write a play, and mine was selected to be read by University of Arkansas-Fayetteville drama students. Each of these events stood out to me, providing pride and further nurturing my love for book writing.
As an author with deep roots in Arkansas, now residing in Houston, Texas, I find that Spa City Book Writer 1 takes me back to my writing roots where it all began.
